If you are like me you are very excited to see the winter end and summer finally arrive. This is always a beautiful time with flowers blooming and more opportunities to do things outside. With this time of year however there also comes unwanted guests and dangers. You will understand what I mean as you read on. I just want to remind you that there are many good insects and spiders however this is one you do not want to meet or have in your home.
When I woke up this morning I was anticipating babysitting my 3 month old granddaughter for the day however I ended up babysitting my 27 year old daughter instead. I opened the front door to greet them this morning when my daughter explained that she had been bitten by a spider the night before. She was looking for a box in her garage last night and felt a pinch on her leg but thought she had just scratched herself with a box lid. She went to bed and later awoke to pain and her leg inflamed. She then made a quick trip to the doctor. She was bitten by a Black Widow which is poisonous. The doctor gave her a shot and a prescription however she had a lot of pain throughout the day. Her leg also has two distinct fang marks where the spider bit her. If there is a good side to this story it is that it was Sarah who was bitten and not my 4 year old grandson. I am sure this would have been a much more serious event for a child.
You aged me by a year. I am a very young 26 year old!
