Christmas is a wonderful time of year when everyone seems to be a little more friendly. We all get to visit and spend time with friends and relatives as we remember Christmas of the past and make new memories for the future. Christmas is a time for sharing and especially for children who wait for Santa to bring those long waited for presents. It is also important that we remember the reason for the season as the saying goes.
"A child is born to us, a son is given....He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
Christmas is the day we remember the birth of Christ and all He has done for us and is going to do in the future. While we celebrate Christmas with gifts, food, and seasonal music we must also remember this is a very important day the birthday of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Eating Tips for Christmas/New Years!
Yes, I know it is
Christmas and the holidays are filled with all the goodies and family
recipes that we seem to only enjoy this time of year. You can still
have a good holiday and enjoy the foods grandma made just keep a few
simple things in mind.
Keep in mind to eat 5 mini meals starting
with breakfast, 3 hours apart throughout the day instead of the larger
meals where you stuff yourself. You can still eat healthy throughout
the holiday season just make wise choices and remember portion control.
Enjoy some of the holiday foods just be aware of the amount you eat and
don't go to a party or family meal hungry because then you will tend to
over eat. If you take a dish with you to a party or family gathering
take a healthy version of a traditional dish or a salad with healthy
greens, nuts, berries, and cheese. This will allow you to eat your food
if there are not foods that fit into your healthy eating plan. Some
parties may only have goodies and junk food. If you take a fruit salad
or vegetable tray then you will have something healthy to snack on while
you enjoy the party.
Keep in mind that if you don't overeat and
if you watch your portion control you will not need to worry to much
about getting back into your regular eating plan after the holiday.
Year in Reflection:
As I reflect on the past year I can do so with a healthier body. For the past year I have been focusing on changing my eating habits and eating more organic and healthy food. I have discovered some very interesting information about different foods for weight loss while getting rid of belly fat. I feel great and now my husband is a believer. This is a lifestyle change that we will continue into the future. Once you have decided to eat healthy you will be on a journey of a stronger, healthier body as you will see the pounds/fat drop off and reach your weight loss goals. The fat will be gone for good as you continue to eat healthy into the future. This is not an overnight process and will take time however you can be assured the fat will stay off and you will not even think about the foods you use to eat.
Throughout my blog you will find foods that will benefit your health and also help you with weight loss. As I have stated many times on the blog, eating healthy will benefit weight loss and is not a diet but a way of life. The changes I have made, and you can too will benefit your overall health and you will loose weight naturally by eating the right foods and getting rid of the foods that are bad for you. The first step I tell people beginning healthy eating is to begin to cut sugar out of your diet. Sugar is the enemy along with processed foods and unhealthy saturated and trans fats. Honey is a great substitute and offers additional health benefits. You can read about honey and other healthy foods throughout the blog postings.
NEW YEAR!!
I look forward to the new year and adding even more healthy eating and weight lose tips on my blog.
